Chocolate Orange Mousse

Chocolate and Orange is a perfect flavor pairing - highlighted wonderfully in this easy Chocolate Orange Mousse.

This recipe uses chilled light evaporated milk instead of thickened cream. This helps keep this dessert a little more guilt-free than your average mousse recipe.

This mousse is so light and airy, and by keeping the sugar down it's not overly sweet either.

Chocolate Orange Mousse

Serves 6

2 tsp gelatin
2 Tbsp boiling water
1 Can light evaporated milk, chilled
1/3 Cup sugar
150 g milk chocolate
1 large orange, juice and zest

1. Dissolve gelatin in boiling water and set aside.

2. Combine 1/3 cup of evaporated milk and the sugar in a microwave safe bowl. Add the chocolate (broken into chunks) and microwave for about 1 minute to melt the chocolate. Mix well.

3. Add the orange juice and gelatin mixture, stir very well and set aside to cool. While this is cooling, take the remaining evaporated milk and beat until it forms peaks stiff enough to stand up alone. Fold into the chocolate mixture and divide between 6 glasses or ramekins.

4. Cover and chill until set (about 4 or so hours). Garnish with orange zest prior to serving.
